Awasuka
The name Awasuka comes from the Nepali words: Aawaas Sudhar Karyakram, which mean: Habitat Improvement Program.
Based in the village of Bhimphedi, its mission is to improve the living conditions of rural communities in remote areas of Nepal, especially women and children, by empowering them with habitat-related technical knowledge in order to enable them to achieve safer homes.
PROJECTS AND DISSEMINATION
Awasuka’s activity focuses on three main areas: seismic-resistance in architecture, health in houses and historical heritage preservation. To achieve these goals, one of Awasuka’s distinctive features is the creation of awareness material through the arts, especially using music, songs and dance, in order to reach the beneficiaries in a different and unique way.
